Snow Day
I'm totally captivated by Shadow World .
David Kessler has been engaged in a year long video documentary of life in the shadows beneath SEPTA's Frankford Line elevated train tracks. Sometimes hypnotic, often compelling, the work will be presented as a video installation at Bambi in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia.
The opening is tonight.

Cold Outside
Finally.
The leaves are only just now turning, having clung to the slumped and exhausted trees - for months it seemed - dull yellow and wilted green with brittle brown edges, like broccoli left too long in the refrigerator drawer.
Fashion's palette too has finally rolled into warm reds and golden ochre tones to foil the clear blue brightness of near winter skies, as evinced by Rick's new hat (shown). Firm felted (Caucasian?) wool, a toque, touk, or turban, shaped to cap a Las Vegas minaret, Eastern Orthodox ice cream stand, or Teletubby chilled by the brisk winds of late Autumn.
