Sweet Dreams

My thoughts today wander back to childhood, and my two older, larger brothers who'd periodically put me in compromising, threatening or embarrassing positions. When they'd again start chasing me through the house, pinning me in suffocating headlocks, or threatening to rat me out to Ma and Pa for some misdemeanor, I'd offer them this simple reminder:

"I'll remember this, I'm very, very patient, and you will have to sleep sometime."

Soundly, I'd hope.
